On 11 December 2003 the police detained Aksana Novikava in front of Minsk City Court for holding the poster “Belarus needs the court of jury”. Workers of Minsk Frunzenskaya Borough Board of Internal Affairs composed a report on Article No. 167 of the Administrative Code (unauthorized picketing). This detention can have serious consequences for Aksana Novikava: the policeman Ruslan Bahnat warned her that in the case if she was detained again she could she could be imprisoned for a year, as her term of conditional imprisonment to which she was sentenced for insult of President Lukashenka.
