On 24 July Walter Schwimmer, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, speaking at the Session of the OSCE Committee in Vein said that the organization insistently urged the Belarusian authorities to urgently adopt new law on mass media, taking into consideration the evaluation of the situation in the country, given by the Council of Europe and the OSCE.
