On June 11 the “Council of Republic” approved the law “On amending certain laws of the Republic of Belarus on the political parties’ activities”. It was put for consideration in the “Parliament” by Alexander Lukashenko and got ratified by the “House of Representatives” on June 5. The amendments envisage the possibility to liquidate a political party or public association for a one-time violation of the law on mass events, given the responsible persons “didn’t ensure the proper order, entailing infliction of large-scale damage or significant damage to the lawful interests of citizens, organizations, state or public”.
