ANTON KISHKURNA LEFT WITH BROKEN ARM AND FINE TO PAY
On 13 May Savetski borough court of Minsk passed the decision on the administrative case of Anton Kishkurna, son of the head of Minsk city council of Belarusian Popular Front. Anton was found guilty of insubordination to police (Art 166 of the Code of Administrative Offences) and fined 140,000 BYR (about $70).
The police detained Anton on 26 April near the building of Savetski borough court during the trial over his father. His father was one of the organizers of celebration of the Freedom Day in Minsk. Anton was sitting in his father’s car, when police officers dragged him out of the car, battered his face and broke his right arm. According to the police officers, Anton Kishkurna refused to show them his documents. Advocate Siarhei Tsurko, who appeared for him in court, says, they are going to appeal against the court decision. At the same time, they are going to press for criminal charge against deputy head of Savetski borough police Yawhen Hurenkow for severe bodily injury.
