Belarusian Helsinki Committee Gets Robbed

At night between 28 and 29 March unknown persons robbed the office of Belarusian Helsinki Committee in Minsk. They took off all hard drives from the computers. Besides, after the night visit the office telephones work bad. “Robbery” of Belarusian NGOs is widespread now.

It’s worth mentioning that it was the second robbery, the first took place on 17 December 1999. At that time the unknown robbers stole the computer with the database for the four years of work, the editorial computer with models of two numbers of human rights magazine and the computer that belonged to the organization secretariat.
