On 12 March a People’s March “For the Better Life!” took place in Minsk. When the action was over, the police started to detain the march organizers.

The action participants gathered at 6 p.m. on Yakub Kolas Square. Then they moved along Frantsysk Skaryna avenue to the Academy of Sciences where the rally took place. Charter’97 coordinator Zmitser Bandarenka announced that the action was over and asked everybody to leave.
After the end of the action the police detained:
Andrei Sannikaw (international coordinator of Charter’97, one of the organizers)
Tsimafei Dranchuk (coordinator of the unregistered Zubr movement)
Ludmila Hraznova (one of the action organizers and Charter’97 coordinator)
The detained were taken to Savetski borough police board of Minsk
