Police Detains Participants of Commemoration Meeting in Vitsiebsk

On October 30 activists of the United Civic Party went out to the central square of Vitsiebsk with the national white-red-white flags and such slogans “Let’s Save Politicians from Official Control and Persecution”, “There’s dictatorship in Belarus instead of Wise Politics and Economy”, “What Will Become If We All Keep Silent?”

This unauthorized meeting was devoted to the national day of the ancestors’ commemoration. The police detained all the action participants and took them to Vitsiebsk Chyhunachny borough board of internal affairs. Among the detainees there were Ella Kanavalava, Tatsiana Zaikava, Khviedar Bakunou, Vadzim Krautsou, Alieh Shulhin, Iauhien Kanstantsinau and Aliaxandr Bakulin.
