KRISHNA FOLLOWERS DENIED REGISTRATION

On 18 October Centralny borough court of Minsk refused to register the Center of Krishna Consciousness Communities. The judge explains, the court decision was based on some drawbacks of the Center application – the documents proving the Center had legal address were drawn up incorrectly. Leaders of Krishna community claim such court decision is unfair and politically motivated.
The newly-adopted law on religions leaves Krishna communities practically no chances that the Center would be registered. Krishna communities act on the territory of Belarus less than 20 years, as it is demanded by the new law. Krishna community will have to go underground.
