Today, a 10 a.m. the administrator of the church “Novaie Zhyttsio” Vasil Iurevich has come up to the building of the Bielarusian Parliament, holding a streamer with slogans of protest against the odious draft law “About religious freedom and religious organizations”, which is being considered by Council of the Republic. In half an hour the police detained the protester and took him to Maskouski borough court, where he received a reprimand. Mr. Iurevich has given the following comments on the situation: “This law is a disgrace for our State. Its adoption will breed lawlessness, that’s why I have come to the Square to protest against it”. Despite of this heroic deed, the law was adopted by overwhelming majority of votes, 46 against 2.
