On 16 September 2002 Pershamaiski borough court will announce its verdict on the criminal case of Viktar Ivashkevich, editor-in-chief of Rabochy newspaper. The court session will be open to public. Editor of Rabochy plans to organize a press conference right after the verdict is announced. The press conference will take place in the office of Rabochy newspaper.
The lawyer for prosecution requested to find Ivashkevich guilty and sentence him to 3 years of forced labor. On 11 September the judge made an illegal decision to hear the case behind closed doors.
