On the 38th anniversary of the Chernobyl accident, Belarusians from Warsaw took part in the traditional Chernobyl Way rally on April 26 to commemorate the victims of the accident and protest against Lukashenka's nuclear policy.

Last year's action was held under the slogan "No to nuclear weapons in Belarus." After the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia stationed nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus.

From an hour of mourning and silence to 35 years of processions. How the Chernobyl Way began

Since then, the Chernobyl Way has always been a reason for repression from the authorities.

This year's Chernobyl Way began from the monument to Nicholas Copernicus. There, at the traditional place of Belarusian rallies, politicians and public activists, human rights defenders and cultural figures made speeches. After that, the Belarusians marched through the historical center, and near the monument to Maria Skłodowska-Curiee they finished the march.
