The trial of 67-year-old Halina Krasnianskaya (Koval) began in the Minsk City Court more than a week ago. The woman was charged under Part 2 of Article 361-1 of the Criminal Code, most likely for donations to Belarusian volunteers or to help Ukraine.

The trial began on January 4, the judge was Alena Ananich.

It is reported that Halina Andreyeuna lived in Sweden for a long time, was one of the founders of the official community of the Belarusian diaspora, and actively participated in its life. At the same time, she returned to Belarus to her relatives every now and then. On one of these visits, probably in the spring of 2023, she was detained in Minsk.

Before marriage, Halina had the surname Koval. She was born in Babrujsk, in the "military town of Kisialevičy". In independent Belarus, she worked first in a military unit, and then as an engineer in a private company.

On January 12, Krasnianskaya received her sentence. According to the Swedish Diaspora's Telegram channel Sveriges Belarusier, the court sentenced her to five years in prison.
