Books of Belarusian political prisoners presented at a book fair in Poland

On November 4 in Katowice, human rights activist Alena Laptsionak presented a publishing series Belarusian Prison Literature at one of the largest book fairs in Poland.

The series was founded by Viasna in 2017. It includes literary works written from personal prison experience: prose, poems, diaries, memoirs. The idea of publishing books of political prisoners in one publishing series came to Ales Bialiatski, who in 2011–2014 served three years in prison on a political case, and wrote Prison notebooks, which, among other things, were included in the series of Belarusian Prison Literature.

At the moment, 10 books have been published in the series.
