The operation was conducted by officers of the “Typhoon”
unit of the road police of the Vitsebsk region. In the evening of 2 August a
car carrying stationery, bags and T-shirts with logos of “Human Rights
Defenders for Free Elections” was stopped by the road police.
The driver was guarded to the Rasony District Police Department. The head of
the public security department Aliaksandr Yastrebau composed the report of
questioning and confiscation. The items were confiscated for “examination”.
The production was destined for long-term observers, journalists and lawyers of
the campaign “Human Rights Defenders for Free Elections”. The examination will
be held for 10 days.
