Sannikau’s lawyer banned from leaving Belarus
Maryna Kavaleuskaya, a lawyer of a former
political prisoner, was banned from leaving Belarus.
The lawyer could not get to Vilnius today. She wanted to go on a private trip
to Vilnius with her husband and child, but got “exit denied” stamp in her
passport on the border. Maryna Kavaleuskaya links the travel ban with the cases
she handles.
Bear in mind presidential candidate Andrei Sannikau was detained on the border
today on the way to Vilnius. The politician, who was recently released after 16
months in prison, was thoroughly searched, but allowed to leave the country.
