Ales Bialiatski officially charged
On 12 August, Ales Bialiatski, chair of the Human Rights Center "Viasna" and Vice-President of the International Federation for Human Rights, has been officially charged under Par. 2 Art. 243 of the Criminal Code ("concealment of profits on an especially large scale”).
Mr. Bialiatski will have to remain in custody at Minsk detention center in Valadarski Street until 14 August, when the investigators are expected to rule on his future detention or release.
