Belarusian prosecuting authorities have received numerous complaints by persons convicted of involvement in “silent protests”, appealing illegal arrest across the country.

However, the complaints do not seem to be considered at all, as several plaintiffs have been summoned for so called “conversations”, where they are forced to provide explanations that have nothing to do with the submitted appeals.

Mrs. Marina Dukmasova was summoned to Minsk city prosecutor’s office to “provide explanations on the results of the inspection” after she complained about illegal actions by the police and the court during her arrest and later trial.

There, Mrs. Dukmasova learned that the prosecutor’s office was inspecting her source of income instead of considering the appeal.
