At about 6 p.m. on 2 March in Hrodna the police detained Uladzimir Levaneuski, son of a leader of the entrepreneur movement Valery Levaneuski, for handing out leaflets with invitation to a meeting of entrepreneurs that will take place on 12 March.

According to RFE/RL, 21-year-old Uladzimir Levaneuski was taken to Hrodna Leninski borough police department. There the police confiscated 163 leaflets and composed a report on administrative detention, a report on the search of personal belongings and a confiscation report. Then Levaneuski was let go. Valery Levaneuski thinks the policemen didn’t compose a report of administrative violation on his son as they didn’t know which article of the new administrative code (enforced on 1 March) he violated.

We should remind that on 21 February the guards of Hrodna market Karona detained Levaneuski’s 14-year-old son Anton for handing out the same leaflets, and passed him to the police. One of the policemen put his hands in handcuffs. At a police station the policemen confiscated the leaflets without composing any reports. Levaneuski filed a complaint with the police concerning the fact of lawless use of handcuffs, but has still received no answer. Now he is preparing a complaint to the prosecutor’s office.
