A Homel resident Volha Liamtsava took an active part in the electoral team of the presidential candidate Uladzimir Niakliayeu during the recent presidential election. He distributed informational leaflets, took part in electoral pickets and observed the election.

11.04.2011 BHC Hrodna activist loses job

Sviatlana Rudkouskaya, activist of the Belarusian Helsinki Committee, has lost two jobs following her involvement in the 2010 presidential election campaign. Mrs. Rudkouskaya has been reportedly dismissed from her job as head of two Hrodna house-hold cooperatives, after other persons were appointed to the posts in violation of the law.

Aliaksandr Baran, an activist of the electoral team of the presidential candidate Uladzimir Niakliayeu and the civil campaign Speak Truth! has been fired from the house economy because of his activism. He hasn't been able to get another job for three months already, despite all his attempts.

Sviatlana Akulich, Judge of the Pukhavichy District Court, agreed that the dismissal of a teacher of history Natalia Ilyinich was lawful.

08.02.2011 Election aftermath: Docent Piatro Mihursk dismissed from Mahiliou State University of Nutrition

Piatro Mihurski, candidate of economical science, had to write an application for retiring on his own will. During the presidential electoral campaign he was an electioneering agent of Uladzimir Niakliayeu. In addition, he supported R.Kastusiou, U.Niakliayeu, V.Rymasheuski and A.Sannikau on the stage of collection of signatures in support of their candidacies.

Kanstantsin Lukashou, election agent of former presidential candidate Ales Mikhalevich, has been dismissed from work at Geochemistry Laboratory of the National Academy of Sciences.

17.01.2011 BPF activists Shpak-Ryzhkau fired

Yuras Shpak-Ryzhkau, member of the Belarusian Popular Front party and ex-member of Minsk election commission #4 during the 2010 presidential election, has been fired by his employer at the Minharsviatlo state-owned enterprise for alleged absence from work.

15.01.2011 Pukhavichy district: teacher loses her job

Natallia Illinich, the teacher of history at the secondary school in the town of Talka, can lose her job. Her labor contract expires on 27 January, and on 11 January the schoolmaster, Natallia Merkul, told her that the contract won't be extended. Meanwhile, according to the existing laws, the employers must inform their employees about dismissal in a month's advance.

12.01.2011 Asipovichy: activist of Uladzimir Niakliayeu’s electoral team dismissed from work

Ihar Treshchau, an activists of the electoral team of the presidential candidate Uladzimir Niakliayeu, was dismissed from the mobile mechanized column #95 where he dealt with equipment maintenance. He worked there for six months and had no reprimands for this time.

03.12.2010 Maladechna: human rights defender Ales Kaputski dismissed from work

On 1 December the human rights defender from Maladechna Ales Kaputski, a long-term observer of the campaign Human Rights Defenders for Free Elections was dismissed from work. The administration of the private enterprise where he worked refused to extend his labor contract without offering any explanations.
