08.10.2012 Siarhei Malashonak gets fined for “Freedom to political prisoners!”
On 8 October the administrative case against an activist of the Belarusian Christian Democracy was considered at the Navapolatsk City Court. Siarhei Malashonak was found guilty of violating Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation of the procedure of holding mass events) and fined 300,000 rubles (about $35).

Ales Bialiatski often writes that he keeps receiving many postcards from various offices of Amnesty International, mainly from Great Britain and the Netherlands. The Brest City Executive Committee prohibited human rights defender Uladzimir Vialichkin, the head of the Brest regional organization of the United Civil Party Uladzimir Vuyek and the head of the Brest regional organization of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada) Ihar Maslouski to hold a picket in support of the imprisoned head of the Human Rights Center “Viasna” Ales Bialiatksi and all other political prisoners in Belarus on 4 August.
