Former presidential candidate Mikalai Statkevich, who is serving a six-year sentence in Mogilev prison # 4, sent a letter to Baranovichi human rights defenders. Political prisoner thanked activists Siarhei Housha, Angela Kambalava and Victor Syrytsa primarily because they don’t forget, and support his father Victar Paulavich Statkevich, who is 87 years old and living alone in Baranavichy.
- We are all understand that in the conditions of the prison censorship Statkevich Jr. is writing little about the hard life in prison, and relations with prisoners and its administration. But his letters are always cheerful and optimistic. He always tells us that he's OK and his position remains unchanged. For those who follow and are interested in his life it’s clear that Statkevich remains in politics, - said Victar Syrytsa.
