Staff of detention center in Akrestsin Street refuse to accept parcel for Homel activists
Activists of "Young Front" from Homel, Stanislau Bula and Dzmitry Karashkou, were detained on March 11 outside the Russian embassy in Minsk while displaying posters saying "Putin, Hands Off Ukraine" and "No to War! Putin is an Enemy".
They were brought to the Tsentralny district police station and charged with an administrative offense for disobeying a lawful order of police officers (Article 23.4 of the Administrative Code). A court ruling ordered 11 days in jail for Stanislau Bula, and 15 days for Dzmitry Karashkou.
On March 20, an activist Volha Nikalaichyk brought a parcel for the Young Front members held in the detention center in Akrestsin Street. However, the prison staff refused to accept food and water. An administration official, Captain Buzan, referred to the fact that the woman was not a relative of the detainees. "I told that the guys’ relatives live in Homel, and it is difficult for them to come to Minsk, but nobody listened to me," said the activist.
