Journalist Andrzej Poczobut to stand trial soon

The reason for the trial was the journalist’s articles in the websites of Belarusian Partisan, Gazeta Wyborcza and in his blog.
The sentence was pronounced by Lenin District Court of Hrodna on July 5, 2011, the BAJ press service reports. Poczobut was sentenced to three years of imprisonment with a 2-year respite.
The new trial may result in one of the three decisions: the convict may be released, his respite may be prolonged or he may be imprisoned.
He has not been summoned to court yet, Poczobut said. It may happen on of these days, he thinks.
