Ideologists ban rock concert in Svetlahorsk

A concert of rock bands scheduled for September 21 was cancelled in Svetlahorsk.

Users of social networking sites write it was the solution of the problem of concerts proposed by Kanstantsin Piatrouski, the head of the ideological department of the Svetlahorski district executive committee, camarade.biz reports.

Such events can be organised only by the department of culture. “Whatever you are, but if you are not a state agency, you cannot organise a concert in Svetlahorsk,” people write on social networking sites.

Concerts are often banned in Belarus. Many bands and musicians are on the blacklist.

In accordance with Lukashenka's recent decree, all cultural events can be carried out only on the permission of ideologists.
