Authorities prohibit March against abortions
The march was blessed
by the heads of the Orthodox and Catholic churches in the country –
Metropolitans Filaret and Tadevush Kandrusevich.
"Dear
potential participants of the march! We are very pleased that so many
people turned up, ready to fight for the protection of the right to
life of unborn babies. Unfortunately, for reasons unknown to us, the
march was not allowed. Thank you all for your willingness to
participate in this event," reads the statement the organizers
of the event.
According to catholic.by, the divine service
which was to have taken place in the Minsk Archcathedral at 10.30
a.m. on 21 September will not take place.
The purpose of the
march was to draw attention to the protection of traditional family
values and the lives of unborn children. The organizers of the
march were the public charitable association "Center for Family
and Motherhood “Matulia”, Brest youth cultural and educational
association " In defense of life and family values" and the
charity foundation "Open Hearts", informs
