System unit, taken away on the case of the virus attack on the website of “Nasha Niva”, is not returned to the owner
Valiantsina Panfila, a public activist
from Brest, has been waiting for the return of her system unit for
two months already. The police repeatedly promised to return it after
it was found that the woman had no relation to the virus attack on
the newspaper computers.
The system unit was taken away by two
police officers, one of whom was a senior operative
of the police department of the Brest Regional Executive Committee,
Major Andrei Hlinski. Valiantsina Panfila was most angered by the
fact that while taking away the system unit in the presence of
witnesses Major Hlinski said he could also find some drugs in her
apartment.
The activist has already applied to the Liakhavichy
District Prosecutor's Office and the local police for assistance, but
hasn't received any results.
Bear in mind that on 22 June a
virus attack had been conducted on the website of the newspaper
“Nasha Niva”. The unidentified persons attached a virus to one of
its headings, after which the website was blocked. On 24 June the
situation repeated on 28 June the chief editor of the edition Andrei
Skurko filed an appeal to the Kastrychnitski District Police
Department of Minsk and the MIA department of the disclosure of
crimes. The real criminals are still to be found.
