The Kastrychnitski District Court of Vitsebsk found the member of the Belarusian Leftist Party “Fair World” Andrei Andreyeu 2 million rubles for distribution of leaflets “People's Referendum”, which was considered as a violation of the Law “On Mass Media”.

Judge Alena Protas fined the pensions acccording to the charges, composed by officers of the Kastrychnitski District Police Department of Vitsebsk, who detained him while he was throwing the leaflets into postboxes in a multi-stored building. The activist thinks the police could receive a telephone call from a local dweller. Andrei Andreyeu stated that the facts that were described in the violation report were true, but he didn't consider himself guilty. He considers the court ruling, issued on the basis of Article 22.9 of the Code of Administrative Violations (violation of the legislation on mass media) as unfair and is going to appeal it.
