Court shows no support to trade union activist
Representative of the Mahiliou
house-building combine didn't manage to prove at court that Aliaksei
Paulouski didn't do his work properly. Earlier the head of the
personnel department of the Mahiliou house-building combine Ina
Zahurskaya refused to employ the activist of the Trade Union of Radio
Electronic Industry Aliaksei Paulouski as he allegedly spent 80% of
his working time on talks with workers instead of implementing his
professional duties.
She stated about it at the Leninski
District Court of Mahiliou on 28 November 2012, when Aliaksei
Paulouski tried to get employed to the Mahiliou house-building
combine on direction of the Mahiliou City Social Employment
Center.
Aliaksei Paulouski didn't agree with it and went to
court, accusing the official of distributing libelous information.
On 13 May Judge of the Kastrychnitski District Court of
Mahiliou Ramanau refused to recognize that Ina Zahurskaya defamed the
plaintiff. The judge refused to admit the fact of defamation and
stated that the woman expressed the opinion of the house-building
combine, not her personal position.
Ina Zahurskaya failed to
explain how she had figured out that Aliaksei Paulouski hadn't worked
80% of the time.
Aliaksei Paulouski stated he had never worked
with Ina Zahurskaya, though she said she knew him by his work.
"I
retired from the house-building trust No. 12 in 2003. I won ten
trials against it, and this organization didn't pay me my wage for
two hours after my retirement. Ina Zahurskaya started working at the
personnel department of the trust in 2006 and then became an
ideologist. She didn't know me in person, but knew that I was able to
defend my rights," comments Mr. Paulouski.
The trade
union activist says that the refusal to employ him at the Mahiliou
house-building combine is political and working discrimination.
Soon
he intends to appeal the verdict of the Kastrychnitski District Court
of Mahiliou at a superior court. Moreover, he is preparing a legal
action against the house-building combine for the protection of his
honor, dignity and business reputation.
