Viachaslau Shved gets officially dismissed from Hrodna State University

The order for the dismissal of the
doctor of historical sciences was signed by the rector of Hrodna
State University, Andrei Karol.
Last month Mr. Shved was
dismissed from the position of the head of the department of the
Belarusian culture and regional tourism. On 1 April the university
council didn't elect him to the position of professor at its
contest.
As a result, Mr. Shved wrote an open letter to the
university staff. He stated that he considered his dismissal as
politically motivated – revenge for the publication of the book
"Hrodna Studies. History of a European City".
