The illustrations were made by artist Volha Baburyna of Maladechna. The artworks in the technique of Vycinanka illustrate each article of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights The event was held in Vilnius Town Hall.
A welcoming speech at the opening of the Week of Belarusian culture was made by the Mayor of Vilnius Arturas Zuokas.
Other speakers stressed the importance of the proclamation of the Belarusian People’s Republci 95 years ago, not only for Belarus, but also for Lithuania: the neighboring country first recognized the independence of the new state. At the same time similar historical processes took place in Lithuania.
