The Ministry of Justice refused to register "Young Christian Democrats"
The Ministry of Justice of the Republic
of Belarus refused to provide the legal status to the civil
association "Young Christian Democrats". This information
was provided to BelaPAN by the responsible secretary of the
organizing committee of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Dzianis
Sadouski.
One month ago the ministry suspended the
registration process and demanded to be provided with some additional
documents, including a paper confirming the presence of the YCD
participants in the constituent assembly of the organization. The NGO
considered this demand as illegal and therefore didn't submit this
paper to the ministry.
The constituent assembly had been held
on 3 November 2012 with the participation of 60 delegates from all
parts of Belarus. According to the organization charter, the YCD is a
national youth association which unites people on a voluntary basis
for joint realization of civil, social, cultural and other rights.
YCD is a secular and non-religious association whose activities
spread on the whole territory of Belarus.
