Late in the evening of 3 July a member of the Belarusian
Christian Democracy Volha Pansevich was detained near the Slonim District
Executive Committee.
She was charged with insubordination to lawful demands of police officers. In
the morning of 4 July she was tried and sentenced to pay a fine of 2.4 million
rubles (about $300).
Bear in mind that on 21 April Volha Pansevich had been detained and beaten by
the police. On 12 June she was also fined 2.5 million rubles. After the trial
Volha Pansevich filed an appeal to the Hrodna regional Court. The appeal will
be considered on 19 July.
