Sannikau's lawyer appeals foreign travel restrictions
Lawyer Maryna Kavaleuskaya filed complaints to the
Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs at the actions
by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Defence in connection with
a travel ban imposed on her.
She also filed a complaint to the Tsentralny District Court at the actions by
government agencies, "Narodnaya Volia" newspaper learned from her
husband Valery Kavaleuski.
Bear in mind that lawyer Maryna Kavaleuskaya,
who defended former presidential candidate Andrei Sannikau, was not allowed to leave Belarus. As she was told in the
Migration Department at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a travel ban was
imposed on request of the Ministry of Defense for draft evasion. This
explanation sounded like a derision taking into account Maryna Kavaleuskaya is
not liable for military service. Moreover, the Ministry of Defense issued an
official document it has no claims to Kavaleuskaya. The lawyer is determined to
go to court to figure out the situation.
