Young Front member Raman Vasilyeu taken into custody for 12 days again
An activist of Young Front was tried today in the Maskouski district court of Minsk.
Raman Vasilyeu was accused of swearing. A police report under article 17.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences (disorderly conduct) was drawn up. The case was heard by judge Tatsyana Matyl.
The judge agreed to watch video materials from CCTV cameras in the detention centre in Akrestin Street, but as at the trial against Dzmitry Kramyanetski, Uladzimir Yaromenak and Pavel Vinahradau, the centre authorities said the CCTV cameras had not worked.
Tatsyana Matyl dismissed a motion to obtain information from the detention centre about the time of arrival and release of the Young Front activist.
The court sentenced Raman Vasilyeu to 12 in custody.
We remind Young Front activist Raman Vasilyeu was to be released on 26 May after serving 12 days in custody. A police report was drawn up against him and he was left in the detention centre. The same happened to activists Uladzimir Yaromenak and Dzmitry Kramyanetski.
On May 23, Uladzimir Yaromenak was not released. He was sentenced to 10 days in custody for “disorderly conduct” (article 17.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences of Belarus).
Dzmitry Kramyanetski was left in the detention centre after 10-day custody on May 24. Judge Tatsyana Matyl from the Maskouski district court sentenced him on a new 10-day term on May 25.
