On 21 March Minsk police detained activist of the European Belarus opposition movement Mikita Kavalenka, as he was going to take a train to Kalinkavichy.
He was taken to the police station and reportedly offered to choose his charges himself. As a result, he was charged under Art. 17.1 of the Administrative Code (disorderly conduct).
This morning, the activist is to stand trial at Minsk Tsentralny District Court.
