Activist Yauheny Parchynski from Polatsk, a member of the organizing committee to create Free Region public association, has been summoned for a “conversation”.

Parchynski says a KGB officer put questions concerning him about participating in the campaign “Revolution by social network” and the website Free Region, which was launched two weeks ago, Radio Svabdoa reports.

“I was asked if I knew journalistic activity is banned without accreditation. The KGB officer mentioned articles in the Criminal Code providing for responsibility for discrediting the Republic of Belarus in publications, photos and video materials and responsibility for insulting Alyaksandr Lukashenka. I was also warned about responsibility for working for foreign media without accreditation. The KGB officer noted meaningfully: 'I hope it is the last meeting with you.' But I understand that almost every second journalist can be brought to responsibility under the mentioned articles,” Parchynski said.
