Ex-political prisoner Mirzayanau files individual communication with UN Human Rights Committee
According to the information provided by
the web-site of the UCP, The Supreme Court
declined the appeal against the sentence made by the first instance court and
the cassation court. In the Supreme Court's opinion, Mirzayanau "foresaw
the consequences dangerous for the society and wanted these consequences to
happen".
Fiodar Mirzayanau's mother Liudmila has stated that their
family will address to the United Nations' Human Rights Committee after going
through the Belarusian courts.
Bear in mind that a third-year student of the Belarusian State Economic
University was sentenced to three years of imprisonment in a
reinforced-security penal colony. He was released in September 2011 by the
President's decree on pardon. The youngster did not fine any requests for
pardon.
