Anarchist Frantskevich deprived of short-term meeting with his mother
Tatsiana Frantskevich
passed a 30kg parcel to her son, who serves sentence in penal colony # 22 “Vouchyia
Nory”.
According to belaruspartisan.org, the woman was informed that the colony
administration banned a short-term meeting for Aliaksadr Frantskevich as a disciplinary punishment.
“We knew two weeks ago that the son was left without a short-term meeting. I
visited the colony yesterday to pass a 30kg parcel. We are waiting for a
long-term meeting now. Aliaksandr will apply for a meeting on his birthday, on 6
May. We plan to have a long-term meeting in May and then a short-term one in
July,” Tatsiana Frantskevich, the mother of political prisoner, says.
The woman admits the prison authorities do not want to soften the regime for
Aliaksandr Frantskevich, who will have served half of his term in March.
Frantskevich's mother says Aliaksandr “tries to cheer up. He had a hope for a
possible release earlier, but now he is getting used to the thought he will
have to serve the whole sentence.”
On 27 May 2011, judge of the Zavadski District Court of Minsk Zhanna Khvainitskaya
sentenced Mikalai Dziadok to 4.5 years in a minimum security penal colony, Aliaksandr
Frantskevich to 3 years in a medium security penal colony and Ihar Alinevich to
8 years in a medium security penal colony. The anarchists were accused of
attacking governmental and private buildings and throwing Molotov cocktails at
the embassy of Russia
on 30 August 2010.
