The reply from the Supreme Court is dated December 23, when Lukashenka said at a press conference he did not plan to free political prisoners.
Yury Stashkevich, a lawyer for the coordinator of European Belarus civil campaign, filed an appeal against the court decision. The sentence, two years in a minimum security penal colony for taking part in a rally against rigged presidential elections, remains in force.
We remind that Zmitser Bandarenka underwent a serious spinal surgery in prison. He does not have proper rehabilitation treatment in prison and may become disabled.
The leadership of the EU and the US demand to release the political prisoners.
