Barysau pro-democratic activist Mikalai Ilyushonak has lodged a complaint against a fine for alleged violation of mass events procedures handed down by Barysau district court on 12 December.
Mr. Ilyushonak was detained while campaigning for the People’s Assembly on 21 September. On 12 December, he was fined BYR 525,000.
In his appeal, the activist argues that the court’s findings are illegal, as the verdict is not corroborated by the evidence provided by the police. Apart from that, there were reportedly numerous procedural violations during the trial.
