Tatsiana
Seviarynets, a coordinator of the organizing committee to create the Belarisian
Christian Democracy party, appealed against the verdict of the court for
holding the People’s Assembly in Vitsebsk.
On 14 December she and Iryna Yaskevich, another organizer of the People’s
Assembly, filed an appeal to the Vitsebsk
Region Court against the decision of the
Kastrychnitski District Court of Vitsebsk, the BCD press service reports.
On 6
December, Judge Inna Hrabouskaya fined Tatsiana Seviarynets 875,000 rubles for
organizing an unauthorized mass action. Iryna Yaskevich was fined 770,000
rubles.
“For our state, issuing fines to opposition members is the most reliable way to
fill the budget amid crisis,” Tatsiana Seviarynets says.
