Salihorsk-based “Young Front” activist Ivan Shyla held
an action in support of Ales Bialiatski at the Human Rights Congress held in
the Polish town of Katowicy on 8 December. The Congress was dedicated the the
human rights situation on the post-Soviet space and was held at the juridical
faculty of the Silezian University where Ivan studies.
The action was supported by ordinary students and well-known politicians and
guests of the Congress, including the former Ambassador of Poland to Belarus Mariusz
Maszkiewicz, the Russian human rights defender Lev Ponomaryov, the European MP
Marek Migalski and the former voivod of Silesia, Tomasz Pietrzykowski.
