Vitsebsk: new official issues first ban

Yury Panfilau, recently appointed the head of the Chyhunachyn District Executive Committee of Vitsebsk, prohibited the local democratic activists to hold a picket dated to an anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The application for the picket was filed by Alena Famina, an electioneering agent for presidential candidate Dzmitry Uss during the latest presidential election. During this picket she also wanted to call people to join Uss’ initiative group for amendment of the electoral legislation.

The official banned the action, as the applicant didn’t conclude service agreements with police, medics and public utilities.
