Some time ago Andrei Surhailis was detained at a
silent protest action and was punished with a fine. Later the Hrodna City
Executive Committee didn't let him hold a picket against the increase of prices
and pauperization of the population.
After this, policemen in civvies pay visits to his apartment or phone him on
Wednesdays (the day of “silent protests”) to warn him about responsibility for
the participation in such actions.
Several days ago he was also “warned” against the participation in the national
People's Assembly on 8 October. Two days later unknown people glued the keyhole
on his door.
