Human rights defender Uladzimir Labkovich has been detained this afternoon, following a picket in support of imprisoned Viasna leader Ales Bialiatski.
Uladzimir Labkovich was approached by police colonel and a plain-clothes person for an ID check outside “Minsk” Hotel in Nezalezhnastsi Square. He is currently held at Minsk Maskouski District Police Department. The Reasons for the detention are yet unknown.
Uladizmir Labkovich was detained shortly after a picket marking the 49th birthday of Ales Bialiatski staged by Belarusian human rights defenders outside detention center #1 in Valadarski Street.
Uladzimir Labkovich was released three hours later.
