Homel human rights defender Anatol Paplauny is still urging the Belarusian prosecuting authorities to prosecute Judge Alena Tsalkova of Homel Tsentralny District Court, who sentenced the activists to an arrest of 15 days for alleged “disorderly conduct” this summer.

According to Mr. Paplauny, his appeal submitted to the General Prosecutor’s Office was considered by chief prosecutor of Homel Tsentralny District, instead.

“Today, I received a roundabout reply from the district prosecutor, which does not mention my demands at all. The prosecutor just informed me about the prosecution of the policeman who illegally charged me”, says the human rights defender.

On 20 September, the “disorderly conduct” charges brought against Mr. Paplauny are to be heard again.
