Political candidate Mikalai Statkevich got injured in Shklou colony

Former presidential candidate Statkevich, sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment within the framework of the "case of 19 December," got his hand seriously injured while serving a sentence in Shklou colony. The convicted politician has been recently working at a lumber mill; now he's been sent to the infirmary.

"This information is confirmed. His hand has either been crashed by a log, or severely damaged," "Belarusian Partisan" quoted the politician's civil wife, Maryna Adamovich.

On 7 September Maryna Adamovich asked the chief of the colony to let her talk on the phone with her husband. According to her, Statkevich' relatives haven't heard from him since 4 August. In addition, she reported that the prison administration does not allow civilian spouses to formalize their relationship.
