On 4 July Alena Tsalkova, Judge of the Tsentralny
District Court of Homel, tried the people who had taken part in the silent
action of protest on 3 July.
Human rights defender Anatol Paplauny was sentenced to 15 days of arrest,
Valer Khamutouski and Zmitser Stsepanets – to 2 days of arrest. Halina Staraselets
was fined 105,000 rubles. The trial of Vasil Takarenka didn’t take place
because of his refusal to speak in the Russian language which he “didn’t
understand”.
