On 1 July Dzianis Dashkevich, the head of the
organizing committee of the Belarusian Christian Democracy in the town of
Rahachou, was sentenced to 5 days of jail.
Mr. Dashkevich is an entrepreneur. He is the founder of the informational
website of Rahachou. On 26 June he put there an invitation to come to the
silent protest action in the town center. The activist was tried within closed
court proceedings.
