Blogger from Lida fined 700,000 rubles

The judgement as delivered by the Lida district court to a user of Vkontakte social network Yauheny Kutsko for insulting former chairman of the Lida district executive committee Andrei Khudyka, now deputy chairman of the Hrodna region executive committee.

Initially, Yauheny Kutsko was accused of insulting and defaming under a criminal article. But after a philological expert evaluation of his work and public apologies to Andrei Khudyka, an administrative case was opened, Radio Svaboda.

During the last year’s presidential elections, Yauheny Kutsko posted a story in his personal page on Vkontakte social network, which he wrote under the impression of an article in a local newspaper.

The guy was impressed how Andrei Khudyka, then chairman of the Lida city executive committee, describes at a press conference how spends his working day, how many important issues he has to solve. The blogger added some invented details, comparisons and other figures of speech to his literary work.

Yauheni Kutsko was fired on the same day. The young man says he, a person with higher education, cannot find even a job of a mover in Lida.
